Medical teams deployed in Nellore for door-to-door campaign in the wake of COVID-19 suspect

Nellore: Even though officials are tight-lipped ipped on the initial confirmation of positive case who returned from Italy and now the Joint Collector, Municipal Commissioner and DM&HO have deployed huge teams of Anganwadi teachers and Asha workers at 42, 49 divisions in Nellore city for conducting campaign on the coronavirus and the precautions to be taken for stopping its spread.

Joint Collector, Dr V Vinod Kumar, professionally qualified doctor, is directly monitoring the situation. The District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu conducted a review with the officials on the situation midnight on Tuesday and alerted the administration for preventive measures on war foot.

Apprehensions are spreading in the city though the district administration directly informed about report of any positive case till now. A person died in Chinna Bazar area and rumours spread that he died due to coronavirus and local people are scared of further spread. Tense situation prevailed in many areas that the issue of positive case reported in Nellore city has become viral even to the other parts of the district.

Further, due to the situation prevailed in the district headquarter, the Rathotsavam of famous Sri Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy has not been confirmed in which thousands of people participate. The area is also under surveillance by the health teams where the initial positive case reported close to it.
