MEGA CELESTIAL FETE Arrangements for Satyanarayana Swamy Kalayanam reviewed

Rajamahendravaram: Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Temple, Annavaram, is making elaborate arrangements for the ensuing Kalayanotsavam of the Lord scheduled to be held from May 15 to May 19 on the sacred hill shrine Ratnagiri.

Reviewing the arrangements with the officials of various departments on Ratnagiri Hills on Tuesday, joint collector A Mallikarjuna directed the officials to work with coordination to make the celestial fete a grand success. Stern action be initiated against those officials if any lapses found while discharging the duties, he warned.

He directed the officials to make elaborate security arrangements, drinking water facility, distribution of prasadams, hastle-free darshan, accommodation and transportation arrangements for devotees. The joint collector also underlined the need to arrange extra-counters for distribution of prasadams and for Kalyanam Akshintalu to the devotees, proper parking arrangements, maintenance of sanitation and also asked the temple officials to arrange closed circuit cameras at all important areas, first aid centres along with keeping of 108 ambulances to meet any emergency.

The joint collector also directed the excise department officials to close all liquor shops 48 hours before the commencement of Kalyanotsavams and till the last day. Plying of autos on two ghat roads also be stopped and asked the RTC depot manager Sudhakar to operate five buses on two ghat roads for the convenience of devotees on Kalyanotsavam scheduled to be held on May 15.

Temple executive officer M V Suresh Babu said the management has taken all necessary steps in all aspects during five-day celestial fete of Lord.

Kalyanotsavam scheduled to held on May 15 followed by Chakra Snanam on May 18 and Pushpayagam on May 19 are important days and devotees throng the temple in thousands on the three main days. Inspector Maruthi Rao said as many as six inspectors, 14 sub-inspectors and 300 constables were deployed to maintain security arrangements. Irrigation department deputy executive engineer Seshagiri Rao was directed to release 30 cusecs of water to Pampa reservoir from Eeleswaram reservoir for Chakra Snanam.
