Minister Anil vows to conduct meet on dotted lands in a week
Nellore: Minister for Water Resources Dr P Anil Kumar Yadav assured to respond on the pleas of the farmers who have been facing difficulties with the dotted lands. He said that a meeting will be organised in a week on the issue.
The officials will conduct a survey on such lands which have been cultivated for the last 40 years and take a decision. He addressed at the District Review Committee meeting on Tuesday and asked the officials to take a decision on procurement of NLR 34449 rice variety.
While addressing DRC meet, the District In-Charge Minister B Srinivasa Reddy said that they will get all pending forest clearances to the lands in the district. He said that Chief Minister is focusing on development in the district and asked the officials to organise DRC meets on a regular basis for reviewing the progress.
He also said that the officials have to strive hard for implementing the Navaratnalu programme. He asked them to enquire thoroughly on the requests received during Spandana and take action on them.
District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu said that there are 75 tmc feet of water in Somasila, 33 tmc feet of water in Kandaleru reservoir and said there is a huge demand for NLR 34449 variety seed, and the officials have been getting from Telangana and other places.
He said they were taking measures for supplying seeds and fertilisers to the farmers. Kovur legislator sought early announcement of Support Price for the crops which will give scope for avoiding mediators. Sarvepalli MLA K Govardhan Reddy said that 10,000 quintals of 34449 variety seed is not sufficient for the season and urged supply of more quantity.
Nellore Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy said that the state government had allocated Rs. 1 cr for waterworks and the amount is yet to be released. He also sought repairs to the roads which were damaged due to monsoon rains . Gudur MLA V Varaprasad Rao requested that the dotted lands issue be resolved early.
Sullurpet MLA K Sanjeevaiah said that it requires around Rs. 2 cr for conducting the Flamingo Fest and the state government allocated only Rs. 50 lakhs. Minister Goutham Reddy, MLC V Balasubrahmanyam, Udayagiri MLA M Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kavali MLA R Pratap Kumar Reddy, and others spoke. Venkatagiri MLA A Ramanarayana Reddy, district SP Aishwarya Rastogi, Joint Collector Dr V Vinod Kumar, and other senior officials were present.
