Minister launches YSR Kishori Vikasam scheme
Guntur: Minister for Women and Child Welfare Taneti Vanitha on Thursday said the State government had unveiled "YSR Kishori Vikasam" programme to address the violent mood swings being experienced by teenager during adolescence.
She was addressing a meeting on the occasion of launching YSR Kishori Vikasam scheme at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram in Guntur city on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, she said the experts would explain physical changes that would take place in the body during adolescence.
The teenagers, she said, had in the past shared their problems with their grandmothers and grandfathers. But now the joint family system broke down. She said the government would give Rs.15,000 under the 'Ammavodi scheme' soon.
Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita said the aim of the YSR Kishori Vikasam scheme was to create awareness and impart training to the youth and help them overcome the violent mood swings. She urged the teenagers to avail themselves of the scheme. She stressed on need for girls to know about rule of law and to face the difficult the situation. She recaleld that the government had extended 50 per cent reservations to women.
District Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar, MP Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu, MLA Mustafa, MLA Ambati Rambabu and Undavalli Sridevi, MLCs K S Lakshmana Rao and A S Rama Krishna, AP State Mahila Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma, Women and Child Welfare Department Director Krithika Shukla were among those participated.
