Minister Perni Nani denounces' rumours over hike in RTC bus charges in Andhra
Andhra Pradesh: The Minister of State for Transport and Information, Nani, has denounced the propaganda of increase in prices of RTC buses. The APSRTC has made it clear that the RTC does won't hike the charges. Minister Nani said that the campaign over the hike in charges after the lockdown is completely untrue and warned that legal action will be taken against those who falsely promote fake news.
Nani made it clear that the APSRTC would act on the instructions of the Union and State Governments. The board would start services after the central and state governments have given the nod.
There were speculations that the state government is preparing to restart the public transport services that were stalled due to the lockdown. As part of this, there is news circulated that the government of Andhra Pradesh is contemplating to bring RTC buses to the depots since the third phase of the lockdown is due to end on May 17. The government has said to be starting buses in Green and Orange zones. It has been widely reported that the charges will also be increased. However, Nani has dismissed the rumours.
