Minister T Vanitha lays stone for AP development works

Kovvur: Minister for Woman and Child Welfare T Vanitha laid the foundation stone for various development works at an estimated cost of Rs 22.5 lakh under the 'Nadu Nedu' programme in government school at Chandravaram village of Chagallu mandal in West Godavari district on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the State Government under the stewardship of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was implementing various schemes for the development of education.

In order to continue schooling of children, Ammavodi scheme was introduced and mothers were provided with monetary help to send their children to school. This scheme had helped in decreasing the dropouts in schools, she said.

Later, she consoled family members of farmer Maddipati Ramachandra Rao who committed suicide recently and handed over a cheque for Rs 7 lakh under YSR Rytu Bharosa scheme.
