MLA vows to promote greenery in big way in Nandyal
Kurnool: Nandyal MLA Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy on Tuesday promised to promote greenery in a big way in Nandyal by taking up plantation of saplings. He has called upon the people, employees, students and other voluntary organisations to come forward to take up the challenge to plant 30,000 saplings in 30 days.
The task of planting of saplings began on September 23. It is not that just to plant the sapling and leave it. The person who plants the sapling has to take care of its nourishing till it is grown into a tree, he said.
People from different walks of life are extending their support to the legislator in promoting greenery in Nandyal. On the second day of the campaign, the plantation of saplings was taken up at Good Shepherd School in NGO Colony. Former Chairperson of Nandyal Municipal Corporation Desam Sulochana, Desam Sudhakar Reddy and Municipal Commissioner Venkata Krishna took part at the plantation programme.
Speaking to The Hans India, legislator Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy said that under the banner 'Go Green Nandyal,' the plantation drive has been taken up. Having tree cover for entire Nandyal will ensure ecological balance, he said.
