MP Sujana Chowdary approaches HC over CBI Summons in bank fraud case
Hyderabad: The former union minister and TDP MP Y Sujana Chowdary have approached the Telangana High court on Monday over the CBI summons to him regarding the bank fraud case.
Last week the CBI has asked him to appear before the investigation at Bengaluru office in the connection with a bank fraud case involving Best & Crompton Engineering Projects.
The Bengaluru unit of CBI has registered three FIRs based on complaints from three banks. The company has allegedly obtained loans from Central Bank of India (Rs 133 crore), Andhra Bank (Rs 71 crore) and Corporation Bank (Rs 159 crore) through fraud accounts and by submitting false statements.
After receiving the summons, Sujana Chowdary in a statement said that the summons which I received from CBI is related to Best and Crompton Engineering Projects Limited.
He said that he was neither a shareholder nor a director in the company. Chowdary also said that the summons should not be considered as invalid as the Bengaluru CBI jurisdiction doesn't come into AP. Regarding the summons Sujana Chowdary said he'll take appropriate action.
