Municipal and Corporation election schedule released in AP, here are the dates

The State Election Commission on Monday has issued a notification for Municipal elections in Andhra Pradesh. State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said polls will be held for 12 corporations out of 15 corporations and 75 out of 104 municipalities. Due to some disputes, 3 corporations and 16 municipalities have been postponed elections.

Against this backdrop, there are no elections in Srikakulam, Nellore and Rajahmundry corporations. Also, elections will not be held in Rajam, Tanuku, Tadepalligudem, Pallakollu, Gudivada, Tadepalli, Bapatla, Mangalagiri, Ponnur, Narasaraopeta, Kandukur, Kavali, Gudur, Srikalahasti, Amudalavalasa, Rajampet. Ramesh revealed that there are no elections for newly formed municipalities due to incomplete process

Here are the Important Dates for elections schedule

  • March 9: Notification Released
  • March 11-13: Receipt of nominations
  • March 14: Scrutiny of nominations
  • March 16: Deadline for withdrawal of nominations
  • March 23: Polling for the polls
  • March 27: Counting of votes, results
