Municipal Corporation of Tirupati makes arrangements for collecting property tax
Tirupati: Officials of Municipal Corporation of Tirupati have made special arrangements for collecting property tax from May 11 and 8 tax collection counters were set up at ward secretariats across the city.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, MCT Commissioner PS Girisha said that people need not come to Municipal Corporation Office for paying property tax. They can utilise all the civic services from ward secretariat.
As part of decentralisation of work, government had established ward secretariats to serve the people effectively. City residents can use these secretariats for applying new water tap connections, birth and death certificates and for other services, he said.
He further said that Covid-19 lockdown restrictions were relaxed partially in the areas where there were no positive cases. Government has permitted to run petty shops from 7am to 7pm in the areas.
He urged to the people to wear masks while coming outs of their houses for personal works. He announced that from this Sunday, chicken and mutton shops will be allowed following the Covid-19 protocols.
