Muslims urge Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani to support meet against Citizenship Amendment Act in Eluru

Eluru: A group of Muslims met Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Alla Nani and urged him to extend his support for the meeting organized opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act in Eluru on February 9.

They handed over a brochure against Union government's CAA here on Friday. They informed the minister that the BJP government brought the Act against Muslims.

Addressing the gathering, Nani said that he would always support the Muslim minorities in the city. There would be no objection for the meetings organised under the purview of Constitution. The democracy guarantees freedom to all to organize meetings, he said.

Nani reiterated that the State government was committed to welfare of Muslims. Muslims remained backward in all sectors and every poor Muslim family need to be developed educationally. His government would extend support for their financial development, he assured.
