Naidu questions delay in filing case in Nellore incident

Amaravati: Hitting hard on the delay in arrest and action on the accused person who allegedly attacked on a women employee in Nellore district, the TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu criticised the Law and Order in the State was not implemented properly. In a press release on Wednesday, the TDP supremo stated that the YSRCP government and the AP police delayed action at least three days on a complaint given by the woman employee Usha Rani after she was attacked in her office in Nellore.

Naidu said the woman attack case was another instance of the overall deteriorating law and order situation in the State. The woman filed her complaint on June 27 but the culprit was arrested three days later only after the video depicting the attack went viral all over the media. Stating it, the TDP chief lambasted that if the video would not surface in the social media, the government would not take the issue even today.

He said some questions remain unanswered as to who shielded the culprit for three days and why the victimised woman was not given any protection in this period. This was nothing but complicity and incompetence on the part of the Government. Lot of noise was made about the Disha Act and women's protection. But, this was how a woman was treated when she approached the police for justice and support. The police must explain to the people why they have not arrested the culprit before the videos went viral, Naidu demanded.

On the other hand, he condemned the YSRCP Government's order taking backlands of Amara Raja Infratech and termed this as part of the ongoing political vendetta. The lands were being taken back out of political harassment against TDP MP Galla Jayadev, he added.
