Naidu tries to inject energy into party cadre
Tirupati: Telugu Desam Party national president N Chandrababu Naidu has spent more time with cadre and conducted marathon reviews of all 14 constituencies in Chittoor district.
During his three-day tour, he took the opportunity to win the confidence of the party workers by listening to their opinions patiently. In every constituency review, he made it clear that party workers have to talk and explain the ground realities which led to the party fare badly in 2019 Assembly elections.
Naidu has openly admitted that he could not spent much time with party as he was busy for five years in rebuilding the State of AP after bifurcation and realised that he had to pay a heavy price for ignoring the cadre.
"Had I conducted these types of reviews at least once in a year of all districts in the State, a different situation would have emerged," he felt. On the whole it was felt that during the reviews Naidu has tried to evaluate the party's preparedness to face the forthcoming panchayat elections.
He tried to motivate party workers and stressed the need to go unitedly in fight against government failures. He held reviews even after midnight for the first two days while on the third day he left Tirupati at 7 pm after completing the entire agenda successfully.
Naidu made it clear that every leader irrespective of win or loss should maintain cordial relations and be available for party workers and people in their jurisdiction. "All these days I have listened to the voice of leaders.
Hereafter my priority will be for party cadre only. Everyone should strive hard from here onwards which has to reflect in the forthcoming Panchayat elections. All party posts in future will be given to those sincerely working for the party," he said.
He made it clear that party membership enrolment and local body elections will be litmus tests for leaders at various levels. Of all constituencies, only Thamballapalle constituency in-charge G Shankar Yadav was absent for the meeting.
When party workers from Punganur segment complained about the problems they were facing from the ruling party leaders, Naidu said that if needed, he will make 'Chalo Punagnur' to settle the issues.
In Kuppam, Naidu pointed out that his winning majority has gone down during the last three elections. He said that he won by 31.7 per cent majority in 2009 which has come down to 15.9 per cent in 2019. The leaders from that segment told him that all the ongoing development works were stalled during the last six months.
In Tirupati review, Naidu has said that the party has more leaders than workers in the pilgrim city. Everyone should work and party in charge M Suguna has to become more active. He said that he will hold another review separately on Tirupati soon.
