Nari Shakti leader begins hunger strike in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Nari Shakti political party founder and national convener Kavuri Lavanya started a hunger strike camp at the party office here on Monday.

She demanded the political parties announce their stand on Special Category Status (SCS) to the state, liquor ban for a better society and people with criminal background should not be allowed to contest the elections.

Speaking to the media, she alleged that the city police denied permission to start the hunger strike. However, she decided to start the hunger strike in the party office at Moghalrajapuram.

She said that the political parties should take a clear stand on SCS which would benefit the people in all aspects.

She said that all the political parties should give their opinion on the demands to include these demands in their manifesto for a better society.
