National Green tribunal Questioned Environmental Department On Polavaram Waste

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) investigated the petition filed by Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on the dumping of Polavarm wastage into the environment. The bench headed by AK Goyal questions the Central Environmental Department on this matter. The bench asked authorities why they are not taking actions on the people who are violating the Environmental regulations.

When asked by the bench about the responsible person for the construction of the Polavaram project, the state government's lawyer responded that the Polavaram project authority is handling the Polavram works. The tribunal postponed the hearing to November 7, ordering the CEO to attend.

In another petition filed by Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, the NGT said that flood mitigation issue could be heard in the case of Polavaram case.
