Native seed expo draws good turnout in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Paryavarana Margadarsi Vaisakhi (PMV) has conducted native vegetable seeds exhibition at Visakhapatnam Public library, Dwarakanagar on Monday.
Under the guidance of S Vijaya Kumar, founder-president of PMV, the seeds exhibition saw a good turnout. In the exhibition, Builder's Association of India Chairman Kasi Visweswara Rao underlined the importance of domestic and kitchen gardening with native vegetable seeds as well as other indigenous seeds for good health and environmental sustainability.
Founder of Writer's Forum V V Ramana Murthy said, "Those who are interested in doing natural farming should make a forum to create awareness on the process among the public on the importance of natural farming. Natural farming helps one avoid use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers."
This exhibition encouraged students to know about the varieties of native indigenous seeds and the importance of preserving them for a sustainable future. J Rajeswari and J V Ratnam took an active participation in the exhibition.
