NCC inculcates sense of nationalism at GITAM

Visakhapatnam: National Cadet Corps (NCC) has made immense contributions towards nation-building and the promotion of social harmony in the country particularly inculcating the sense of nationalism among the youth, said Senior NCC officer Col Amith Sarma here on Wednesday at GITAM Deemed to be University.

Addressing the newly admitted engineering students as part of Bridge Course-Lecture series, he said that ever since its inception, the NCC has inspiring the youth to understand their duties and responsibilities towards the nation. He also highlighted the importance of youth in making a developed and prosperous nation.

He briefed that NCC was a tri-services organisation which includes Army, Navy and Airforce. Every year around 10,000 students enrolling in NCC and performing well in all exams, he added. He said youths of today can make a difference in their societies by standing out of the crowd and upholding moral values in a morally bankrupt society.

Noted motivational speaker Dr G Rajasekhar focussed his talk on Me-My College-My Success and answered several questions raised by students. Program in-charge Prof N V S Venugopal, GITAM NCC Officer Captain Prof Srinivasa Rao participated in the meeting.
