Need for protection of girl children stressed: APD P Vijaya
Kurnool: Revenue Division Officer (RDO) K Venkateshwarulu along with the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) Assistant Project Director (APD) P Vijaya addressed division level taskforce meeting organised on "Beti Bachao-Beti Padao" programme at RDO office here on Saturday.
Addressing on the occasion, Venkateshwarulu said that today's girl child is tomorrow's woman who are responsible for creating beautiful world. Without women, existence of human beings is not possible and there will be no meaning to the life, he said and stresse4d on the need to protect girl child. First of all we should not discriminate between male and female, both are equal, he said.
``Women are competing with men in all fields. Under the slogan Beti Bachao-Beti Padao, the central government has taken a decision to protect the girl children,'' he said. Assistant Project Director (APD), P Vijaya expressed grave concern about the declining ratio of female. She said there is need to bring awareness among the people and this is the main intention of the programme.
Deputy District Medical and Health Officer (DDMHO), Hemalatha and others spoke on the occasion. Later the officials released posters of Beti Bachao-Beti Padao programme and also pledged on this occasion.
