Need to protect small traders from MNCs stressed: MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy
Tirupati: YSR Congress Party local MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said that the MNCs like Wall Mart entering retail market in India adversely affecting the small traders in the country.
Karunakar Reddy inaugurated the annual general body meeting of Tirupati Chamber of Commerce (TCC) here on Sunday and addressed the meeting. He stressed on the need to take adequate measures by the government to safeguard the interests of small traders.
He lauded the TCC for its initiatives for the welfare of traders in the pilgrim city and also for taking various social service programmes.. Marking the occasion, TCC organised a blood donation camp which was inaugurated by Chief Whip and YSRCP Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy.
TCC president A Manjunath said that efforts are on to construct a building for housing the TCC to take up more and more programmes for its members. Stating that TCC would take up many social service programmes in the city, he recalled the TCC proactive role in the campaign against plastic and also tree plantation in the city. TCC secretary P Madhusudhana Rao, treasurer K Chowdary and others also spoke.
