NEET conducted in Tirupati sub-division smoothly
Tirupati: National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions into MBBS, BDS, Ayush courses, was held on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm at 13 centres here peacefully. Altogether, 8,160 students appeared for the exam which went off without any major incidents. Students from Anantapur, Nellore, Kadapa districts have reached one day in advance to Tirupati and stayed to write the NEET exam.

CBSE observers have inspected NEET examination centres at Govindaraja Swamy Arts College, Padmavathi Girls Highschool, SPW College. Officials strictly monitored the premises and students were allowed into examination centres only after thorough checking by the officials.
Students have carried personal ID cards (Aadhaar card) and Hall tickets along with them to write the examination. Security arrangements were made by the Tirupati Urban police. The mercury levels raised to 42 degrees Celsius on Sunday in Tirupati and students have to write the examination in hot weather at many centres. Parents also faced hardships for waiting outside the examination centres in scorching sun up to 5.00 pm.
Due to the Group-2 exams in the morning and NEET exams in the afternoon, all the city roads were jam-packed with cars and other vehicles especially in the areas where educational institutions are located. All the parents and others who accompanied the students, rushed to examination centres along with students in their vehicles to the examination cenres. City traffic police have cleared the traffic jams at main junctions like Ramanuja Circle, Balaji Colony Junction, SPW College centre, University Road and other areas.
