Nellore: 300-acre land identified for distribution of pattas
Nellore: Minister for water resources P Anil Kumar Yadav said house sites will be distributed to 14,000 people in the district on December 25. He said they had identified 300 acre land for the purpose.
The minister visited NTR Nagar on Thursday and inspected the conditions there along with the civic officials. He said former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu earlier handed over 300 square feet house at Rs 3 lakh but the current government was giving them free of cost. On the same day, he said, the Chief Minister would start distribution of houses to the beneficiaries.
Further, Anil Kumar Yadav asked the authorities to make arrangements for Vaikuntha Dwaradarshanam on December 25 at Talpagiri Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple in the city, following the Covid guidelines. Holding a review with the officials on Thursday, he said a huge number of devotees visit the temple on the day for offering prayers and told the officials to see that every devotee wears a facemask and maintains social distancing.
He also said that a huge number of women devotees visit the temple and asked the police officials to make elaborate security arrangements from the December 24 evening up to the 25 night. Women police staff members should be posted at the temple, he suggested. He also asked them to engage ace swimmers at the ghats for preventing any unforeseen incidents in connection with holy baths at the river.
He said Adhyayanotsavam is going to be held in the temple premises from December 15 to January 4 and the electricity department should prevent any outages. He released the invitation of temple in connection with Vaikuntha Ekadasi festival.
