Nellore: All set for annual roti fest from today

Nellore: Minister for Irrigation Dr P Anil Kumar Yadav, who visited the Bara Shaheed Dargah on Monday where annual roti festival is going to take place from Tuesday, said that they had made all arrangements for smooth conduct of the prestigious festival. he along with the Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy inspected the works for the festival at the Dargah here on Monday and asked the officials to maintain hygiene conditions in Swarnala Tank for the benefit of the devotees.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said that the State government is going to conduct the festival in a prestigious way and said they had planned arrangements for two months ago. Anil mentioned they had invited tenders even for small work to be taken up on the Dargah premises. He stated the main event of the festival, Gandhamahotsavam, would be held on September 11.

Rural MLA Sridhar Reddy said that he would personally monitor the works and arrangements of the festival keeping in view of safety of the devotees. There have been no irregularities in allocation of works and asked the leaders of all parties to make the festival a successful event. Later, the Minister inaugurated media centre on the Dargah premises.

Further, Municipal Commissioner PVVS Murthy, who visited Dargah on Monday, said that the staff members were cleaning the tank daily making water fit for taking bath.

The teams have continuously been monitoring water cleanliness adding chlorine and other required material for hygienic environs. Commissioner announced that they are introducing Paragliding facility for the enjoyment of devotees. He launched the train run at ACSR Stadium and said people can enjoy gliding up to 200 feet which would be an attraction during the festival.
