Nellore: Even as the state government had approached the High Court on Saturday through a House motion petition on the decision of the scheduled polls for the local bodies from February 5, the officials are gearing up for conducting the second phase of Amma Vodi programme by the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy here on Monday.

In fact, there has been ambiguity over conducting the meet due to election code and finally CM's Programme Coordinator Talasila Raghuram visited Nellore and discussed with the Minister M Goutham Reddy and P Anil Kumar on how to overcome the situation as they had already made arrangements for the launching of the scheme.

Finally, they decided to conduct the meeting considering the code doesn't apply to the urban areas and hence there wouldn't be any problem with the poll code. At one point in time, officials were asked not to carry out any arrangements till a decision is taken on conducting the meeting. So, officials also are actively participating in the arrangements for the programme since Saturday evening.

It may be recalled that the Minister for Education A Suresh also announced on Saturday that they were implementing the scheme as usual where 44,08,921 beneficiaries are getting the benefit with Rs 6,612 crore. He stated that they were depositing the support to the bank accounts of beneficiary mothers on Monday.
