Nellore: Collector KVN Chakradhar Babu asks bankers to clear pending applications in a week
Nellore: District Collector KVN Chakradhar Babu asked the bankers to support the three flagship programmes of the State government for the benefit of the poor.
He addressed the bankers and officials on Thursday and asked the bankers to clear all pending applications within a week pertaining to the schemes such as YSR Cheyutha, YSR Bima and Jagananna Chedodu.
Petty traders are in dire straits due to the Covid situation and support of Rs 10,000 to them is a great help under Jagananna Chedodu, he said. Village and ward volunteers forwarded some applications to the banks and asked them to approve them. He said there shouldn't be any pendency of applications and they should be cleared within a week.
BC/SC/ST/Minority women aged between 45 and 60 years are eligible for support of Rs 18,750 per annum for four years and they are planning for 1,16,000 units in the district. He asked the officials concerned to visit field areas for selecting the beneficiary. Support under the YSR Bima scheme is being delayed due to technical reasons and asked the bankers to resolve the issue quickly. In all, 4,981 families were benefitted with Rs 78 crore under the Bima scheme and asked to open Jan Dhan accounts for the people who are having no bank accounts. Village and Ward secretariats are now facilitation centres for various schemes and Aadhar data should be considered for age confirmation, the Collector said.
He asked the bankers to clear insurance claims within a fortnight. Joint Collector Surya Prakash Rao, DRDA Project Director Nageswara Rao, Union Bank Regional Manager Manivannan, LDM YV Ramprasad Reddy and others were present.
