Nellore Collector MV Seshagiri Babu launches training for women secretaries
Nellore: District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu said the state government had realised the need for protection of women and children and hence created assistant posts at the village level for serving them. The Collector launched training programme for the selected Village/Ward Women Protection Secretaries at the District Police Training Centre here on Monday.
He said each employee has to focus on issues of the women, children and the aged mingling with the families for quickly resolving their issues. Secretaries at the village level have to play a crucial role for coordinating all services and also to bring the issues to the notice of the government. Seshagiri Babu further said for rendering such service-oriented job, they should have abundant knowledge on existing Laws and Acts.
He also said there would be orientation programme on utilising advanced technology for moulding themselves as good service providers.
District SP Bhaskar Bhushan said that the secretaries have to work hard to solve local issues in villages and wards.
Normally, he said, police training takes at least two years and they had adjusted the entire syllabus to a two-week programme for quick understanding. City Municipal Commissioner PVVS Murthy said all employees have to focus on reducing the crime rate and also bring local problems to the notice of the government. Additional SP P Manohar Rao, APO of Women and Child Welfare Department Seshu Kumari and others were present.
