Nellore: Police failed to provide security to Naidu, alleges Somireddy
Nellore: Former Minister and TDP politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy alleged that the State government had failed to provide minimum security to former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who visited Amaravati on Thursday.
He addressed the media here on Friday and criticised that the police failed to take minimum precautions when the Opposition leader was visiting the place. He said the police had released the persons who staged protests and attacked the vehicle of the former Chief Minister accepting simple station bails.
"It was very unfortunate that the DGP had commented that persons whose land value was affected had attacked the bus in which the former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was travelling. DGP said that they have every right to stage a protest on the issues," Somireddy pointed out.
Somireddy questioned who is responsible for the decline in realty trade and losses to the farmers in the Amaravati region. In fact, he said former Chief Minister Naidu had planned to see that farmers get good value to their assets by ensuing excellent development of the area.
He also alleged that the value of land and property had decreased after the formation of the new government by the YSR Congress party. Somireddy also said that they had never seen such a horrible situation even during the regimes of Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, K Rosaiah and N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said that the Home Minister and the DGP have a responsibility to maintain law and order in the State.
Real estate trade has come down in all the districts after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed office and many construction workers in the State have lost their livelihood because of new sand policy, he added.
