Nellore : TDP leaders visited Government General Hospital on Tuesday and consoled family members of Udayagiri Narayana from Kandamuru of Nellore rural constituency and they alleged that he committed suicide only due to harassment of Podalakur police and local YSR Congress leaders.

The dead body has been shifted to the GGH for post-mortem and TDP leaders visited the hospital.

Senior TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said Udayagiri Narayana was summoned twice to visit the police station in connection with a theft allegation levelled against him by a ruling party leader and he committed suicide after he had faced third degree treatment from. SI Karimullah is a notorious officer who manhandles the accused mercilessly, he said.

Further, Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy who also visited the hospital demanded a probe into the death of Udayagiri Narayana when the opposition leaders were blaming the role of ruling party leaders and the police.

Sridhar Reddy said they were going to request the SP to conduct a thorough probe into the death and seek severe punishment against the accused. He said Narayana was not an offender and appealed to the Collector and SP to respond to the issue.
