Update: 2019-11-26 11:53 IST

Nellore city corporation is going all out for the development of the city. In the wake of the last government general election, the municipal corporation has wholly emptied the vault. In these circumstances, the authorities and the rulers have reviewed the needs and priorities of the city and prepared a major work plan.

As part of this, the government gathered general fund and various special funds of Rs. 100 crore. It will also be called for a tender for all work and will be allocated in full transparency. Before the general election, the Nellore municipal corporation, the then municipal minister Ponguru Narayana granted all permissions for the projects.

Nearly 80 per cent of the underground drainage system and drinking water pipeline work undertaken by the central government has been completed. With the election code, the works were halted. But 80 per cent of the work done is completely far away from quality.

Every work in the corporation has been carried out transparently since the YSRCP came to power. The govt has given directions to the authorities to manage the tenders. The authorities, according to the rules, have conducted tenders and secured the short quoted contractor.
