Nellore: Yoga advised for health & mental peace

Nellore: Joint Collector Vetri K Selvi said regular practice of Yoga enhances physical and psychological health and asked the participants to practise yogic exercises daily for leading active life. She formally inaugurated the International Yoga Day programme at ACSR Stadium here on Friday. She said Yoga not only improves health condition but also helps to energise the human body which is essential in the present stressful life.

Joint Collector-2 E Sadhana said that Yoga is an ancient practice and people should understand its significance. She said this is not a sweating exercise like crunches, push-ups, chin-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, and others, but Yoga is a good workout that gives energy, strength and mental peace with various other benefits.

Municipal Commissioner Alim Basha, SETNEL CEO S Kanaka Durga Bhavani, Project Director of MEPMA Chiranjeevi, Ayush senior medical officers Dr Sekhar, Dr Padmaja, Dr Jagadeeswari, sports coach Panduranga Rao, and others were present.

Further, Arogya Bharathi organisation conducted yoga day celebrations at GVRR College in which city RSS president Dr CV Subrahmanyam, Kshetra Pracharak Syam Kumar and others participated.
