New Act aims at resurvey of land in State: Pilli Subhash Chandrabose

Amaravati: The Deputy Chief Minister (Revenue) Pilli Subhash Chandrabose said that the state government aimed for resurvey the entire lands with new technology called Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS).

Addressing a Press conference at secretariat here on Thursday, he said the government has estimated an expenditure of around Rs 1,600 crore for the entire project and pilot project will be initiated at Jaggayyapet.

He said that the state government introduced the revenue reforms to maintain land records in a transparent manner. He observed that the revenue system in the state has paralysed and there is an urgent need for immediate measures to protect the interests of the land owners.

The Dy CM stated that due to problems in the agriculture sector, at least 3 lakh agriculture workers in the districts like East and West Godavari migrated to Hyderabad to take up other works. They are settled as construction labourers or in other works. He stated that the government is trying to create confidence among such people in the state and brought the new Land Title Act. He said that if the governments create confidence among farmers and tenants then they will continue cultivation.

The Minister, earlier addressed Joint Collectors' conference and directed the officials to create awareness among all the farming community across the state about the scheme.

The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the government has decided to distribute housing lands for the eligible poor. He said that at least 25 lakh families are without houses and all of them will be provided with the houses.

Reacting on the reservations under EWS and the failure of state government in implementing it for the ongoing recruitment, he said that the issue is in courts and government could not solve it until the matter disposed off.
