New district in Andhra Pradesh to be named after Alluri Sitaramaraju: Avanthi Srinivas

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Avanthi Srinivas said that the name of one of the districts that would be formed soon in the state shall be named after the name of revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Seetharamaraju. Avanthi Srinivas paid tribute to the Alluri Sitaramaraju's statue at Visakhapatnam Beach Road in the wake of the Alluri's 123rd birth anniversary on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the name of a to be formed district will be named Alluri and his name will be retained in history.

The minister also promised to make Pandrangi village in the Padmanabham mandal of Visakhapatnam district as a tourist hub. He also said that two hundred crores would be allocated for the development of the museum at Alluri Tomb and Pandrangi in Kedi Peta.

It is learnt that during the march, the Jagan Mohan Reddy pledged to name a district after Alluri Sitaramaraju if they come to power. "There are plans to establish 12 new districts in AP soon; CM Jagan is reported to be planning to keep his promise to name a district after Alluri," Avanthi asserted.
