Amaravati: AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the new sand policy would come into effect from September and that CC TVs would be arranged in all ramps.

CM YS Jagan reviewed Spandana program with the district Collectors and SPs. In the meeting, the CM discussed the shortage of sand issue for about half an hour with the officials.

The CM told the officials that the new system would be implemented in a transparent approach. He ensured that there would be no shortage of sand. If needed, open the ramps and increase their numbers, he said. If there is no availability of sand, then the rate will shoot up, and people will have to face difficulties, the CM added.

With the increase of sand shortage in the state, the construction workers from all districts have come down on to the roads and staged a protest at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada.
