New Tobacco Board chief promises to get better MSP for farmers
Guntur: Tobacco Board chairman Yadlapati Raghunadh Babu met Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Piyush Goyal in New Delhi on Thursday and thanked him for extending his cooperation to get Tobacco Board Chairman post.
He said at present he was studying the problems of tobacco farmers and added that as soon as he will take charge as Tobacco Board Chairman, he will visit tobacco auction platforms and interact with tobacco farmers. He said he will try to get a better price to farmers. Piyush Goyal said he will hold detail discussions after Parliament session.
Raghunadh Babu also met Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and felicitated him. He is waiting for Gazette notification to be issued by the Central government regarding his appointment to take charge which will take some time.
After that he will take charge as Tobacco Board chairman. Speaking to The Hans India, Yadlapati Raghunadh Babu said, "As soon as he will take charge Tobacco Board Chairman he will interact with the farmers and try to resolve their problems and will try to get a better price to the farmers."
