NGT AP panel chief inspects dumping yards in Kadapa
Kadapa: Justice B Seshasayana Reddy, Chairman of the State-level Committee formed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), has inspected dumping yards at Ukkayapalli and Madhyamadugu on Rayachoti road here on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media, Justice Seshasayana Reddy said Ukkayapalli dumping yard will be developed with Rs 23 crore by improving amenities like solar lighting, walking tracks and play toys for children in 10 acres of land with funds from the World Bank. Earlier, he recalled that the garbage which is being collected from Kadapa city was shifted to Ukkayapalli dumping yard.
In view of civilians facing various health issues, the government has decided to dump the garbage to Madhyamadugu dumping yard existing in 99 acres of land. He said government also sanctioned Rs 3.9 crore for the development of Madhyamadugu dumping yard for constructing internal roads, lighting and other facilities.
Kadapa municipal commissioner Lavanna, PCB engineer N Subba Rao and others were present.
