NIDJAM will be held in a grand way in Tirupati: TUDA Chairman

Tirupati: TUDA Chairman Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has sought the cooperation of traders and other organisations in conducting the National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) in a grand manner. Addressing a review meeting he said that the meet has to be organised in a befitting manner in which everyone should give a helping hand. He has donated Rs.10 lakhs cheque for the sports meet and handed over the cheque to District Collector Dr N Bharat Gupta who attended the meeting.

TUDA Chairman said that if not in cash, one can donate in kind like looking after stage arrangements, transport facilities for athletes, food, bedsheets etc., He revealed that Indian Oil Corporation has agreed to give Rs.20 lakhs worth diesel whereas NECC will provide 1000 kg chicken and 30,000 eggs which they donated last year also.

District Collector has said that to provide accommodation for athletes 15 college managements have agreed where 4,500 persons can get accommodated. The works in stadium have started as the event will be held from November 23-25. Athletic Federation of India representative Divesh said that out of 4,500 athletes to be participated in the meet, 650 talented students will be identified for whom Athletic Federation of India will give training in New Delhi. Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner PS Girisha, Joint Collector Markandeyulu, JC-II VR Chandramouli, RDO V Kanaka Narasa Reddy and others took part in the meeting.
