SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar met Andhra Pradesh governor Biswabhushan Harichandan. The views collected from the parties on the conduct of local body elections were explained to the Governor. It seems that the SEC has complained that there is no support from the government and asserted that the government encourages officials to belittle autonomous institutions such as SEC. The same matters were mentioned in the court in the form of an affidavit.

Nimmagadda has discussed with governor over Local body elections and the attitude of the government towards SEC. Also he complained to governor against CS Nilam Sawhney over the letter written to SEC. The SEC further explained that the coronavirus is declining in intensity and the elections are being held in neighbouring states, he complained that the government was making excuses on local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. It became interesting how the governor would respond to the complaint.

Meanwhile, CS Nilam Sawhney on Tuesday wrote a letter to SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh over conduction of local body elections stating that it is not possible to hold elections as the coronavirus pandemic is not subsided. However, Nimmagadda retorted back to chief secretary's letter by stating that the discretion of SEC cannot be questioned.
