Amaravati: Minister for municipal administration BotchaSatyanarana blamed opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu for Andhra Pradesh being depicted without a capital city in the map published by Survey of India.

Speaking to media here on Tuesday, Satyanarayana said that Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the state not having a capital city as no gazette notification was issued during his five-year term which was wasted on unproductive things.

The minister asked why Naidu did not issue a gazette notification to the Centre during his tenure that Amaravati was the capital of the state. He said even Naidu's confidents including Y Sujana Chowdhary who are in BJP did not bring up the issue of the capital of the state.

He asked how such people blame the present Chief Minister on the issue. He said the present state of the economy is in doldrums because of the plundering of the state exchequer by Naidu and his henchmen.

The minister wondered whether Naidu lost his mind to announce that he would go on a fast on November 14 in support of the construction workers. He said it was foolish of Naidu to choose an auspicious day like the Children's Day to go on a fast.

He said in 2004, the then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy took up the programme of distribution of 40,000 houses in the combined Andhra Pradesh benefiting several construction workers.
