No corona positive case in Vijayawada, says civic chief Prasanna Venkatesh
Vijayawada: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh has said that no Coronavirus (Covid 18) positive case has been reported in Vijayawada city and added that the denizens need not panic over the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the city. He said isolation wards and a laboratory have been arranged at the GGH and Siddhartha Medical College for conducting tests and to treat the patients infected with Covid 19 virus.
The VMC Commissioner conducted a review meeting with the officials of public health and other departments at the council meeting hall on Monday and instructed the officials to take preventive measures to check the outbreak of Corona virus. He said personal hygiene was very important and appealed to the people to maintain hygiene and asked the officials to create awareness on it.
He further said the most Corona victims have very low immunity and the most affected countries in the world are cold countries. He said the chances of spreading Covid 19 in Vijayawada is less due to the hot weather conditions in the city.
He further said medical and health departments have taken necessary arrangements and set up two isolation wards at the GGH. Additional commissioner of the VMC, A Mohana Rao and Chief Medical and Health officer Dr Venkata Ramana and others were present in the review meeting.
