No COVID-19 detected in AP so far: Dy CM Alla Nani

Amaravati: There are no COVID -19 positive cases recorded in the State as on Wednesday, informed the Deputy Chief Minister (Health, Medical and Family Welfare) Alla Nani in a press release.

He said that the government has identified 281 suspected cases in the state so far, based on their travel history to other countries. Out of them, 65 members are under medical surveillance at their respect houses in isolated rooms. Two members were taking preventive medical care in hospitals. The tests showed negative results for the two members. So far, 11 samples showed negative results to the COVID 19.

At the same time, the Dy CM informed that another 8 members samples were collected and sent for the tests, who arrived recently to the state from abroad. Government is waiting for the results of these 8 cases. Out of them, 5 persons are in observation at Visakhapatnam Chest hospital, one person at GGH Kakinada, another member at GGH Vijayawada and the remaining person is admitted at Eluru district hospital.

The government has deployed rapid response teams for quick action, he said. Nani asked the public to inform the suspected people so as to take preventive measures. He said that, as required, the government arranged N 95 masks, personal safety kits, triple-layered masks and other medicine.

Nani urged the public to maintain personal hygiene, wash hands and face frequently, cover face when sneezing and cough. He asked the people who came to the State from abroad, to stay at least 28 days in the house in an isolated room. He also suggested that they should not interact in close contact with the family members or others.
