No fund cut for welfare sops in Chittoor: Deputy CM

Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Excise and Commercial Taxes K Narayana Swamy said there was no shortage of funds for the development schemes being launched in the state.

Addressing the beneficiaries of YSR Vahana Mithra Scheme at Gangadhara Nellore mandal, he said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was exploring all possibilities to extend welfare scheme benefits to reach all sections of people.

He said that there was a tremendous response for YSR Vahana Mithra Scheme throughout the state.

He added the Chief Minister announced the financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to each auto driver per year after collecting information during his Sankalpa yatra.

Stating that 1,73,102 auto drivers were benefitted so far, he said the Rs10,000 financial assistance was directly deposited in bank account of auto drivers as per the promise by the Chief Minister.

He said the last date for applying the scheme was extended upto October 30 and appealed to all eligible to avail the scheme. He reiterated that total prohibition would be enforced in the state in a phased manner and sought the cooperation of auto drivers in this regard.

He came down heavily on former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for resorting to false allegations against Jagan for deriving political mileage. He exuded confidence that Jagan would continue in power for another four terms.

Former MP M Gnanendra Reddy recalled the services of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. YSRCP leader Vijayananda Reddy and RDO Vivekanda Reddy were also present.
