No plans to hike bus fares, APSRTC MD Madireddy Pratap clarifies
Andhra Pradesh: The APSRTC has clarified that the bus service would be started from Thursday. The APSRTC MD Madi Reddy Pratap who spoke to media has said that the busses would run in the stipulated period between 7 am and 7 pm with fifty per cent occupancy. Also, he stated that the interstate busses would not be operated. However, he said that the government had written letters to the other states for the approval over interstate services.
Speaking to media, he said that the APSRTC is geared up with all measures such as arranging sanitisers in the bus, providing masks to the passengers, etc. before operating the service. Madireddy Pratap has made clear that they are not increasing the charges and made clear that the tickets be booked through online by all kinds of wallets such as credit card, debit card and GooglePay.
However, Children over the age of 65 and under ten years of age will be allowed only under the medical emergency. "Bus services are being operated to enhance economic growth; as many as 1683 buses would start tomorrow, and some of the AC buses also would be operated amid scorching summer," Pratap said RTC MD Madireddy Pratap.
