No support to NRC and CAA bills says Deputy Chief Minister Amjad Basha

Amaravati: "The government of AP is not going to support NRC and CAA Bills, where our Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has already announced it", said Deputy Chief Minister Amjad Basha.

Addressing a press conference at the party office at Tadepalli in Guntur district on Tuesday, Amjad Basha stated that people of AP, especially those from minorities needn't panic about the NRC and CAA Bills, as the government and YSRCP were against these Bills.

The Minister also said that people from minorities were feeling insecure about the Bills and going with protests. "We have made it clear that our government is always favorable for the welfare of the minorities and supports them. We already consulted various minority organisations and took their opinion. According to the Indian Constitution, those unable to adjust in other countries during partition have come and taken Indian citizenship, which is quite legal. Objecting such people citizenship after these many years is not a fair step. Even our MP's have discussed these issues in Parliament."

Speaking about the decentralisation Bill, Amjad Basha said that they have taken the opinions of the members in the meeting. "Our main intention behind this Bill was to provide equal opportunities to all the district and develop all three regions equally.

However, the TDP members are intentionally creating chaos and confusing the public. "We have visited all the districts in the State and taken public opinion. People from all districts are welcoming the decentralisation decision of the government and also supporting the government. The Chief Minister has a clear intention to develop all the regions of the state equally and brought this Decentralisation Bill, but the TDP members with evil intentions stopped it in the Council", he said.

"TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu doesn't have any right to speak on the Muslim community as he did nothing for the welfare of Muslims during his five-year tenure. It is clearly Jagan and the YSRCP government worked for the welfare of the Muslim community and did bring financial assistance to the poor Muslims. Naidu and his people are solely confined to only three villages, neglecting the other regions in the state," he added.

Government Advisor (Public Affairs), Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the meeting was held on the decision of decentralisation of governance and development, where everyone shared their views.

"People from 13 districts have come and welcomed the decision of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on decentralisation. Through decentralisation, the development of backward regions can be done especially North Andhra and Rayalaseema. The Chief Minister always stands by his words and thus committed to provide equal opportunities and development in all three regions across the State", he explained.
