NRI exercises franchise in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: M Sunitha, a scientist from Washington DC, could hardly contain her excitement when she came out of the polling booth after getting her finger inked. She came all the way to Visakhapatnam from Washington to participate in the electoral process on Thursday.
Though she keeps visiting her hometown annually, this time she preponed her trip to surprise her mom. "But, my mom had to go through a hip surgery as she met with an accident. Since I have to assist her, I extended my trip. However, I am glad that my extended stay helped me cast my vote at least this elections," says Sunitha, who accompanied her mom to the polling booth.
She mentioned that except humid weather, she looks forward to fly down to the City of Destiny. "Fortunately, both my mother and I could exercise our franchise in about 30 minutes at the polling booth. I consider it a privilege to be here on voting day," she adds.
