NSTL's Mahila Kalyan Manch celebrates Annual Day

Visakhapatnam: The Mahila Kalyan Manch (MKM) of Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) celebrated Annual Day-2019 with zeal at Mohapatra Manasi Auditorium, NSTL campus, on Wednesday.

Led by president of MKM Lalithamai Nandagopan, the event was attended by Andhra University Prof V Valli Kumari.

MKM has been carrying out several activities for the welfare of society and people of all sections. It also extends monetary assistance to specially abled children of various schools in Visakhapatnam and organises programmes that help empower women.

Prof Valli Kumari congratulated the association members for the initiatives taken up for the betterment of women. According to her, technology continues to make great strides. She emphasised the role of women in bringing balance to fast-paced lives.

Vidushi Manda Sudha Rani, who attended as distinguished guest, said women bring harmony and without them any endeavour would be incomplete.

NSTL Director O R Nandagopan appreciated the activities conducted by MKM and lauded the efforts of women scientists, officers and staff for their significant contribution to the association. He added that DRDO was the best place for women to work in the country as it produced successful women leaders who showcased outstanding work.

Later, the dignitaries gave away prizes to winners who took part in various competitions organised for Annual Day.
