Officials told to protect the spirit of Spandana programme

Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the people were expressing satisfaction over the implementation of Spandana programme in the State.

The Chief Minister held a video-conference with District Collectors on implementation of Spandana programme on Wednesday. He said that a survey was done on the officials' response to the grievances in Spandana programme and a majority of people expressed happiness over their problems getting solved.

He also told that the government has selected some officials across the State and will conduct a workshop to focus on the issues resolved by them. The Chief Minster directed the District Collectors to interact with MROs, MPDOs, and Municipal Commissioners on a regular basis to secure their feedback on Spandana.

"It came to my notice that some officials are not behaving properly with the people who came to submit their grievances and its range is from 2% to 5%. This issue will be taken seriously and Collectors should ensure that the spirit of the Spandana programme does not diminish," said Jagan.

The Chief Minister congratulated District Collectors for the successful conduct of Village Secretariat recruitment exams. Government officials told the Chief Minister that volunteers completed verification of 1,21,62,651 households across the State out of 1,45,72,861 households. The balance verification would be completed by the end of this week.

They also said that they had identified 23,83,154 beneficiaries for the housing scheme and 772 acres are available in urban areas and 25,822 acres in rural areas for the distribution of pattas though housing scheme.

The Chief Minister also enquired on the current flood situation in Godavari and Krishna basins and directed officials to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of the flood-prone people.
