Senior TDP leader Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, former MLAs SVSN Varma and Kondababu consoling the injured woman at Government General Hospital in Kakinada on Tuesday

KakinadaA 70-year-old woman A Parvati sustained serious injuries after hit by a RTC bus at Lalacheruvu in Rajamahendravaram on Tuesday. The incident took place at the quarry market. She was rushed to Kakinada Government General Hospital (KGGH) for immediate treatment.

According to sources, she was forcibly taken to CM Jagan's meeting in Rajamahendravaram. She fell as the bus moved when she was alighting from it. At the same time, another RTC bus ran over her legs, damaging both legs. The locals rushed her to KGGH.

However, the officials reportedly kept this incident in utmost secrecy and didn't disclose the details of this accident that occurred in connection with the CM's meeting.

GGH Superintendent Dr D Hemalatha Devi told The Hans India that the victim's both legs were damaged and she is not in a position to walk. "The victim's BP and sugar levels are under control and she is under further treatment. The victim may walk after that," the superintendent hoped.

Dr Hemalatha stated that patient Parvathi's relatives said that she reportedly took injection for dog bite in a local hospital at Rajamahendravaram. She fell after an RTC bus hit her while she was returning from the hospital and was injured.

At first Dr Hemalatha wondered as to why the injured woman was brought to Kakinada GGH when she sustained injuries in Rajamahendravaram. Later, she corrected herself by stating that the victim might have brought here hoping best medical facilities available in KGGH. She assured to provide best facilities and qualitative treatment to the victim.

After knowing the incident, senior TDP leader and Peddapuram MLA Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, former MLAs SVSN Varma and Vanamadi Venkateswar Rao (Kondababu) visited the GGH, Kakinada and enquired about her condition. They requested the medical authorities to give best treatment to her.

Speaking to the media, Rajappa held the government responsible for the old woman's plight and demanded thorough inquiry into the incident.

Former MLA SVSN Varma alleged that volunteers forcibly took the aged people to the CM's meeting, which led to this accident.

Former MLA Kondababu alleged that the old woman was injured as volunteers compulsed her to attend the meeting. He noted that there is no need for such meetings like the one in Rajamahendravaram since the CM is pressing buttons to deposit their amounts directly into their accounts. He demanded that the government should pay compensation and do justice to the injured old woman and also wanted better medical treatment for her.
