One die, 8 hurt in car-auto collision

Nellore: In a collision between car and a shared auto near Pellakur in Chaavali village on Saturday, a woman died, and eight others sustained injuries. The deceased was identified as V Subbulamma (55).

According to sources, the incident took place when the car was heading towards Tirupati from Nellore, hit a shared auto coming from Srikalahasti in Chittoor district. In the incident, the auto overturned and the passengers in the auto sustained severe injuries.

The onlookers informed the police and an ambulance. On the receipt of information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a local hospital in Naidupeta. The passengers hailed from Jeelapaturu in Pellakuru mandal and from Bhimavaram in Naidupet mandal, were returning to their native places after finishing their work from Srikalahasti. Police registered a case.

Woman's body found In another incident, a woman body was found under suspicious circumstances at flyover near Kalangi River in Sullurpeta town. The deceased was identified as Rajamma (55). According to sources, Rajamma was from Vatrapalem and has been working as daily labourer. Police shifted the body for post-mortem and registered a case.
