Ongole: 5,000 rural women to be trained in digital literacy

Ongole: The Prakasam district skill development officer, R Lokanatham informed that the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in association with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in the Union government, CSC Academy and Facebook is offering a free online training program Digital Beti for rural women entrepreneurs.

The skill development officer said that by providing digital literacy training to the rural women, they are aiming to upgrade the entrepreneurs to develop their businesses and experts in the market, so that they would get more exposure and get more recognition to their groups. He said that the women will be trained online on digital marketing, Facebook jobs, online safety, etc.

Lokanatham said that they have set a target to provide training to 5000 rural women entrepreneurs from 10 states on the digital literacy program and utilize their services as master trainers to train a total of 250000 women from 3000 villages on the same. He advised that only those women seriously interested in the program should register by opening the APSSDC- Facebook Collaboration Women Online Training Program- Digital Beti page at the website https://apssdc.in.

He also said that they are conducting online courses for the degree and engineering graduates under IBM Skill Build program, Trained Nurses Association of India certificate program on containment and control of COVID-19 for nurses, and various programs for unemployed youth with Class X and above qualifications and basic computer knowledge.
