Ongole: Abhaya cops extend help to distressed woman
Ongole: The newly launched distress call service by the Prakasam police, Abhaya Vehicles, to rescue the women while they require help in emergency situations in the wee hours served the first user on Saturday night.
The Prakasam police control room received the distress call on Dial 100 from Duppalapudi Satyavathi, wife of Arjun and resident of Adusumalli village near Parchuru around 09.00 PM. She explained the officer on duty that her daughter is ill and she was taking her to Parchuru on her two-wheeler at that time.
As it was emergency, she said that she didn't check the fuel and the tank went empty in the middle of the way. She requested help from the department as it was dark and cold on the road.
The control room alerted the Parchuru police immediately and instructed the Abhay Vehicle for the rescue of the woman and her daughter. The Parchuru police talked to the woman and assured her that they would reach them in a few minutes.
In the meantime, they brought fuel also for the two-wheeler of the woman and escorted them to the doctor in Parchuru and dropped them safely back home in Adusumalli after they took required medicines.
The villagers appreciated the service launched by the Prakasam police on the pilot basis and wished that similar service is available in all police stations limits in the state soon.
