Ongole : APSRTC reduces goods bulk transport charges by 50 pc

Ongole : The APSRTC Ongole ATM Commercial, J Srinivasa Sarma announced that the corporation has reduced the charges of direct goods transport for bulk cargo booked through the counters or through the agents, to 50 percent.

He announced that they will charge the cargo of 0.5 ton and more in weight for 200 kilometres, just Rs 50 inclusive of GST and toll fees per kilometre, instead of Rs 100, and the price will decrease by Rs 1, for every 100 kilometres in distance.

He explained that the price will be Rs 49 per kilometre from 201 to 300 kilometres, Rs 48 per kilometre from 301 to 400 kilometres and so on, it is Rs 40 per kilometre for any distance more than 1200 kilometres. He said that earlier, they used to charge for a minimum of 1 ton weight, but now the corporation is allowing to book from 0.5 ton also and the customers can pay only for the half-ton instead of one full ton.

The ATM Commercial announced that the facility will be very much useful to traders and advised them to utilize the APSRTC services. He said that they have made available one cargo vehicle at each depot and another 5 vehicles are available with them to send to the required depot on demand. He announced that they are offering a 5 percent commission to agents who book cargo and the interested agents can contact him or local depot managers for registering their names.
